Production Position and Comments:
Modified bonnet catches to facilitate assembly can be introduced at the 1st. chassis in 'C' series without scrap.
It is at present necessary to mark off bonnets in Erecting Bay to suit individual chassis then transport bonnet to the Sheet metal Dept. where catches are then fitted.
Proposed modification renders it possible to fit catches during construction of bonnet thus eliminating transport and delay involved by present practice of selectively fitting catches.
A tool cost of £13.0.0d. is involved and there is an increase in Factory cost of 10d. per chassis, which will be more than offset by the corresponding reduction of indirect charges. RHC{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer}
