Description: "GENERAL" Bypass oil filter (British Filters Ltd)
Purpose: Is an improvement over existing AC in that it has detachable filter element also has greater capacity.
Brief Report and Remarks:
'General' filter is running 15,000 miles on 8.B.V. and several experimental cars are running with this type.
It has approximately the same cleaning ability as the 'AC' but about 10% greater capacity, that is it would last longer mileage before replacement. The great advantage however is that the element is detachable and can be removed without having to undo unions etc. as in the case of the A.C. The replacement of the 'General' costs the customer approx. 7s. 6d. as against 17s. 6d. for the A.C.
