CHASSIS WORK - 25HP.
x5000

In redesigning the 25HP. crankchamber we find it needs to carry more oil in the crankchamber. The .750 gal. at present normal should at once be increased to 1 gal. - i.e. the gauge altered to shew 'full' at 1 gal. instead of .750 gal.

In the new design we have managed to get room for 1.250 gals. normal, and we are proposing to mark the sump 'full' at 1.5 gals. This allows .250 gal. held up in the engine while running so that on an incline there is no dipping of the connecting rods even if up to the 'full' mark when standing.

We should also have the safeguard that it is unlikely a driver would encounter a very steep hill of 1 in 5 directly after he had filled up.

In this new design we are hoping to do away with some pipe work etc in connection with this part of the work, and make it equally good for less cost.
