List of work instructions for modifications to be carried out on the 35.EX Phantom III experimental car.

Will you please carry out the following work for us on 35.EX. Phantom III experimental car -

(1) Fit new Hall's metal big end bearings to the existing rods which comprises the following parts -

E.89242 } Bearings.
E.89243 }
E.89242 Bearing bush.
E.89245 Locating pin.

The bearings to be machined in position on the rods to give the correct clearance for the crank.

New bolts should be fitted.

(2) Remove the main bearing caps and check if bearings are O.K.

(3) Whilst heads are removed decarbonise and lap in valves.

This is required in connection with final tests to clear the proposal to abandon oil coolers on Phantom III and accordingly we would like the car again as soon as possible. We will put the car into the Repair Dept. today as convenient.

(4) Fit new bottom tappets and blocks to be supplied to LRC.5667.

(5) Will you please remove from 32.EX the clutch pedal with servo mechanism and fit it to 35.EX and fit the pedal of 35.EX. to 32.EX.

(5) Remove gearbox, prop. shaft, and axle pinion the latter to be returned to exptl. for a new flange to be fitted.

A new gearbox No.15 HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} and prop. shaft will be supplied.
