Bensport Front Brake Cables. Referring to R.H. cable fouling the oil pump, I have examined the car and it appears that if the cable could be moved outwards .250" at the front end, there would be sufficient clearance. [Drawing of a lever with handwritten note 'set here'] The levers could be set as you suggest, this set it is suggested being put into the lower part of the lever, near the boss, where the section is considerably thicker than in the upper part. RECEIVED Alternately it would be possible to gain .250 by making new levers in which the shank is attached to the boss all on one side. [Drawing of a lever cross-section] Both these apply to the R.H. side only and for cars now in an advanced state of production. In future it appears possible to obtain this movement by modifying the machining of the existing axle forging. This would apply to both sides. Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} | ||
