10-EX CAR. X8770

Attached is a list of the points where 10-EX car differs from standard.

Our main difficulty in eliminating noises from the aluminium engine is due to the fact that the tappet clearance must be .009" when the engine is hot, if the valves are to close properly when cold.

We found that the ultra raked column on the car vibrated badly at speed, carrying the dash with it.
We have therefore put a temporary support piece between the dash and the frame to eliminate this trouble.

We have changed the 17 tooth axle to a 16-tooth.

Should you approve of the car, we have arranged that Dodd shall take it to BJ. at Frinton for a few days as he has expressed a wish to try it on his holiday there.
