Republic 5308 KEEPING AEROPLANES FIT TO FLY Lindbloom Auto Parts Co. 6440 South Artesian Avenue CHICAGO, ILLINOIS June 29, 1938 Rolls Royce Derby England Experimental Dept. 1360? Pedes Scott Gentleman: Replying to your Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Swdl.{Len H. Swindell}7/Jh. we are not sure that we understand your requirements, but it seems to us that you propose using the packing on all valve stems both intake and outlet. Our experience has shown that it is futile to use the packing on the outside and there is too much heat to pack the exhaust valves on the inside. The packing should be used on the intake valve stems only inside the intake chamber. You will pardon our bringing this point to your attention, Im sure, as we are not attempting to tell you your business but it would be a waste of time and expense to try our packings other then as above stated. We will be pleased to communicate further with upon receipt of your advice on this point. Yours truly, A.{Mr Adams} C. Lindbloom A.C. Lindbloom Pres. Lindbloom Auto Parts Co. acl/b | ||
