COPY LETTER. Ref. CHK/OP. 23rd March 1933. Messrs. Rolls-Royce Ltd., Nightingale Road, DERBY. Dear Sirs, Replacement Order R.2729. With reference to the contact breaker lever returned under the above replacement order, we beg to say that we have examined this lever and the fracture would appear to indicate a flaw in the steel. We regret that this was not detected in our inspection department, but would mention that this is our first experience of a fracture of this description. We have been using steel for this purpose from the same supplier for about fifteen months, during which time several thousands of levers have been made. We are sending a replacement lever and are sure that you may place every confidence in all levers we may supply to you giving satisfactory service. Yours faithfully, NORTH & SONS LTD. | ||
