COPY. PN {Mr Northey} 9/DN22.12.22. To BJ. 20 HP. Chassis. I do not know how far the Works realise the serious disability to which owners of this chassis willbe placed in not being able to speed up the engine to a reason- able extent by means of the throttle-lever on the steering wheel. It is highly inconvenient when starting, for instance, on a steep hill not to be able to speed the engine up by this lever. The present arrangement means that a gymnastic and most un-Rolls-Royce-like effort has to be made to hold the car by means of the side-brake on one hand, whilst the accelerator is depressed by the foot. Also another great disadvantage is that all gear changing has to be done by means of the foot accelerator, and although I personally have had some experience of such things, I can never count on getting a silent change from 3rd to 2nd on this chassis at any of the higher speeds at all.
