This was taken up with NY. To overcome corrosion a chromic phosphoric treatment is suggested. This steam chamber cover is to be made in Diatampo instead of aluminium to prevent the threads picking up. The steam chamber is to be altered to give more sectional thickness at the undercut of the bottom thread. K.L.G. 'F.S.' Type Ignition Plugs. No complaints. All plugs of cars coming into the Service Station have been examined. There has not been any signs of the centre electrode burning, that has been experienced by the Experimental Department. Petrol Pumps. The high pressure pumps in the frame are being complained of for noise. These are being returned to the Experimental Department for investigation. Tappet Oil Filter. Chauffeurs were stripping the thread in the aluminium filter body when cleaning the filter. Steel inserts are being fitted in the aluminium body, both at the Works and at Depots. Bolts stretching in steering box, found at Depots. This has been due to over-tightening to stop oil leaks from the joint of the box. Precautions are being taken to ensure better bedding of the joint and instructions given not to over-tighten the bolts. Ignition Coils. Complaint of high tension lead is in the way when adjusting the fan. The coils are to be turned round the opposite way. A slightly longer lead is all that is necessary. Water Pump. Squeak from rotor blades fouling pump body. This is receiving attention. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/GWH.{George W. Hancock - Head Chateauroux} | ||
