Top overoiling.
Fouled ignition plugs, and low oil consumption.
The latest scheme to overcome this trouble is to reduce the quantity of oil to the rocker and hydraulic plungers by fitting unions to the small filter with decreased size of feed hole i.e. from .100" diameter to .075" diameter. This also increases the time factor of cleaning the filter.
The main pressure spring has to be changed with this scheme to reduce the oil pressure. E.87851 is the new spring.

Oil Coolers.
Failure of the soldered joints.
The latest cooler is the F.{Mr Friese} type. This has a larger joint in the bulge of the tubes. It is also made parallel to ensure a more reliable soldered joint.
Dip soldered in place of hand soldering.

Brakes.
Complaints of internal squeaks from mechanism and binding of brake shoes laterally
Complaints of squeaks from brake material are few.
The Works are now applying to all brake mechanisms a smearing of high temperature grease. A definite lateral clearance is allowed in the anchorage. The steel bushes in the shoes are now cadmium plated as on the 20/25 and Bentley to prevent rusting.

Failures of Dynamo fuses in armature circuit.
It has been reported that in practically all cases of failure, the fuse has become defective, when all the various components were in use and the dynamo giving its full output. This rather tends to show that the 20 amp. fuse has not been up to the required strength. Also the fuse clips have been found to have a larger gap than standard, which has not gripped the brass clips of the fuse sufficient to make a good connection. There has been signs of heating up at these points.
The E.C. have produced a clip in type of fuse which will be available very shortly (approx. two weeks).
