To AJS. from EFC. c.c. EY/ED.{J. L. Edwards} EFC3/T3. 2.27. X7650 x7625 SEQUENCE STARTER No. 2 SCHEME. Reference your AJEL/M27.1.27. third paragraph. I do not think we ought to use, as you suggest, the single type push button switch, and I had not suggested that we could suitably alter the present automatic switch unit to make it adaptable to the single push button switch. We must use the duplex switch for this unit, otherwise we may still have the trouble reported as occurring, to overcome which the duplex push button switch was evolved. As pointed out in my note EFC1/11.10.26, the top half of the No.1 scheme, comprising automatic switch unit and duplex push button switch, can be used with the bottom half of the No.2 scheme, comprising motor with sliding armature and armature operated switch, and it is this combination that we think it is your intention of suggesting for a trial on thee chassis if the No.2. scheme automatic switch unit (which will be used with a single push button) is not ready. We have, therefore, arranged with the D.O. that this combination be instructed for the car in question. This is quite a good thing to do because the combination of duplex push button switch and No.1 automatic main and relay switch has worked quite satisfactorily. The faults in the system have been entirely confined to the lower portion of the No.1 scheme, comprising motor with solenoid actuator box Contd. | ||
