X 75351 EFC5/AD. 26th February, 1930. Messrs. The National Accumulator Co. Ltd. 93, Gt. Portland St.{Capt. P. R. Strong} London, S.W.1. Dear Sirs, Further to ours of the 20th inst. ref EFC1/AD we have received a visit from Mr. McKinnon of the Chloride Co. and the matter referred to in the second paragraph of our previous letter was discussed inter alia. The Chloride Co. are not in agreement with your suggestion on two points - (1) That there does not remain very much thickness of ebonite when the brass insert is thickly lead coated as suggested. and (2) That the ebonite does not adhere well to the lead. They suggest as an alternative that the insert should be moulded in place a little lower down and be entirely covered by ebonite except for the stud hole. For the time being, and in view of the fact that we ourselves have not experienced the corrosion mentioned to an extent to cause any dissatisfaction, we have agreed with Mr McKinnon that for the present no change need be made even experimentally. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED. | ||
