Messrs. James Russell & Co. Ltd.,
NEWCASTLE.

Dear Sirs,

We understand that you market a rubber compound known as "Waterfall" which is peculiarly resistant to water.

We would like to know whether -

(1) You could supply us with six sample washers (to our print EW.1666 attached) in this material for test purposes. The washer will be in contact with water, 30% ethylene glycol solution, and very small quantities of grease and will have to withstand temperatures up to 100°C and preferably be immune from sticking to its metal seating which is plated.

(2) Whether you could mould a rubber insert in this material into the valve shown on attached blue print. If so we will send you the necessary valve and mould equipment which we already have.

An early reply would be appreciated.

Yours faithfully,

for ROLLS-ROYCE LTD.
