X5425 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} BY14/H.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} 25.11.26. [STAMPED] Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} NOV 26 1926 20 H.P. STEERING. FRICTION ON BALLS OF CROSS STEERING LEVERS TO REPLACE FRICTION ON THE PIVOTS. REC D I notified BY/TWD{T. W. D???Aeith} that since we were adopting the scheme like the above on the 4C/G, it would be necessary to look into the position in regard to the 20 HP. BY/TWD.{T. W. D???Aeith} has drawn my attention to the fact that we had a scheme from West WitteringHenry Royce's home town and that we have detailed and issued same. The particulars of the scheme and details are:- W.Scheme 2201. Our Details - G.53058 to 9. G.53060 & 1. Issued under cover of LCP. G.53062, on 10.5.26. Is there a likelihood of this type of friction being:- a/- introduced on changeover work in place of the friction on the pivot. b/- used on standard in place of friction on the pivots. The rest of the story is that we are at the moment, from the commencement of "J" Series, onwards, fitting friction on the pivots. BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} BY | ||
