X5425 BY/FHB. [struck through] c. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} BY12/H.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} 22.11.25. LOW SPEED STEERING WOBBLES. To stabilise the steering on the 20 HP. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} suggests that as an alternative to the scheme we have standardized for adding friction to the pivots, it might be cheaper on existing cars to fit a scheme with friction on the balls of the cross steering levers. The load on the balls taken as a friction moment should deal directly with the actual dead weight on the pivot. This will give you a very close approximation to the size of spring in the first instance. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} would soon try out our proposals if we would give him the necessary drawings and figures. BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} | ||
