We have to acknowledge receipt of your telegram of today, urging for the initial sets of Aerolite Pistons, for the Bentley car, from the new foundry equipment, and regret very much that we have not been able to supply these earlier. We have been unfortunate in encountering a number of snags in getting the new metal corebox to work efficiently and manufacture cores on a satisfactory basis, and although these difficulties have not been of such a nature as to affect the ultimate castings, they have introduced unexpected delay in getting the equipment to work smoothly and with certainty. However, we are now definitely in sight of the end of these teething troubles, and there seems every possibility that we shall be supplying the two sets you require towards the middle of next week. Rest assured that the matter is receiving our constant attention and that we are not compromising with quality in order to get these pistons in your hands before we are really satisfied that subsequent deliveries will be identical in all respects.
