'SS{S. Smith}' TWO WHEELS ONLY AT REAR.

In view of the pressure on the Coachwork Dept.
we should be very much obliged if Derby could set out this
arrangement for SS.{S. Smith} as we think the information we have supplied
will enable them to do.

We have today sent off N.sch.2760 shewing the
arrangement for India, and in N.sch.2732 you have the existing
arrangement on SS.{S. Smith} We suggest that you should use the same
size central bolt increased in length only as on N.sch.2760.
The tubes of the supporting triangle should be increased from
.875" to 1", and of course the tube in front of the wheel
carrier should be 1 3/4" in diameter.

The tubes and fittings carrying the number plate
can be the same.

The dummy hubs are of course scaled up to correspond
with the wheels.

If Derby could set this out and send us the result
we think it would enable us to get this carrier for SS.{S. Smith} going
more quickly. We believe you understand that R.{Sir Henry Royce} has agreed to
N.sch.2732 on his car - i.e. 18-EX the 1st. SS.{S. Smith} - but the scheme
similar to N.sch.2760 will be required on some of the following
SS.{S. Smith} cars.
