Landaulet for Experimental Central Control Car.

HS{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}6/LG28.10.20.

We fear there is some misunderstanding over the height of the dash of this car. The sketch attached to your memo Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}1/LG15.10.20 was duly passed to Messrs. Hooper & Co., who report that it shews a dash-board identical with that shewn in the coachbuilder's drawing F.7689 of the chassis. We believe the coachbuilder's drawing referred to shews a dash-board exactly similar to that which is being fitted as Standard to the second thousand chassis, i.e. 1" higher than the first post-war dash-board, whereas we understand you contemplate fitting a special dash-board 2" higher than the first post-war dash-board.

Will you please have the matter gone carefully into and let us know definitely whether the dash-board will be 1" or 2" higher, in order that we may issue the necessary instructions to Messrs. Hooper & Co. You will understand that the matter is an urgent one as the coachbuilders have the Body well in hand and unless we let them know definitely shortly they will probably have proceeded too far to build the scuttle to suit a 2" higher dash-board.
