X3729 To Mr. Coverley. c. to EFC. c. to Ms. c. to Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} By/HEB{H. Biraben}5/DW6.12.20. X.4302. 40/50 CHASSIS. X.3729. RE COACH BUILDERS BODY CLEARANCE BACK AXLE. --------------------------------------- F.8910 - Kindly receive herewith 3 Blue-prints of Clearance Template, for the Back Axle. Will you kindly instruct for 6 sets to be made to this drawing and forwarded to Mr. Oldham at "Sales" Department, London, in order that he may get his inspectors and Coachbuilders to experiment and express their opinions. The reason for these new Templates being made is that the present Templates - as previously experimented with and decided to use from pre-war days - are stated by "Sales" not to give sufficient clearance when bodies are produced to them, and in order to overcome this trouble they require to experiment with the new Templates. This Templates is shown on N. scheme 649 a Print of which is in your possession. If the new Templates prove, to be O.K. and it is decided to use them, our Coachbuilders' Drawings will have these Templates shown on them with a Note explaining how they are to be applied. Will you kindly proceed accordingly, and urge these through. By/HEB.{H. Biraben} | ||
