To Roy.{Sir Henry Royce} From Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Hdy.{William Hardy} Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Hdy.{William Hardy}2/MJ.16.11.34.

Will you please send an official order to the Adamant Engineering Co. Ltd., Dallow Road, Luton, for one Marles Steering Gear Type L.7 R.H. to the following particulars -

(1) Long length rocker shaft i.e. 6 3/8" from axis of column to top end of pendulum lever.

(2) Not less than 18" of inner and outer column projecting from box.

(3) Cam giving 3 1/4 turns of steering wheel from full R.H. lock to full L.H. lock.

(4) Oil filler boss removed and improvised filler fitted as on our drawing Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}1515.

We think that the price should be no more than for the last gear we obtained from the Adamant people, i.e. £7.

We have already written to the Adamant Co. asking them to prepare the gear and have sent them a print of our drawing Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}1515.

The above gear is experimental for Wor{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager}'s. car.

Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/F.J.Hardy.
