SPECTRECodename for Phantom III - Girling Brakes - Front.
-------------------------------

Herewith is N.Sch.s 4358 and 4374 showing the arrange-ment of Girling Brakes on the SpectreCodename for Phantom III Front.

The arrangement of wedge operation shown on N.Sch.4358, while it appears that it should be very efficient both in operation and in equalising, has the drawback that it is difficult to make lubricant-retaining, and some of the parts would require rescalising or similar treatment. We therefore expect that the operation shown on N.Sch.4374 will turn out to be preferable.

In other respects, the shoes and fulcrum are intended to be the same on both drawings.

As in the case of the rear Girling brakes, room does not allow of a hand adjustment being fitted and we expect a small key fitting all the brakes to be provided.
