AGREEMENT FORM. Sheet No. Hm.{Capt. W. Hallam - Head Repairs}50.

We do not consider we ought to expect customers to carry out the work suggested on this sheet. If we were a customer and paid to have a car repaired, we should expect it to be returned so that it was ready for use.

We are not fully aware of the reasons for asking the customer to tighten the cyl. head and re-adjust the tappets twice in 500 miles. We have not found the necessity for this on experimental cars.

We should expect that one re-tighten on a new gasket would be sufficient. This of course would be done before the car left the Works.

We have made enquiries in the Test Dept. and they do not agree with this sheet. They also point out that owing to the distortion of the Phantom cyls., they think it very likely to land us in serious trouble if we give the impression to the customers that the nuts holding the cyl. head have to be very tight.
