Ha/FJH.{Fred J. Hardy - Chief Dev. Engineer} 22/KM.15.1.35.

We note from your Daily Report sheet of 14.1.35 on 21-G-IV that the S.4947 linings were not as effective as VM.30.

This confirms results obtained on our Servo test rig, chassis 1-B-IV, and chassis 3-B-IV. We wished to give these linings a good chance as they gave good results on B-23-AE after about 1000 miles running in. Owing to the poor results obtained on your tests and our own over here we have decided to discontinue tests on this lining material.

Will you please put back the VM.30 material at the earliest opportunity.

Ha/F.J.Hardy.
