Messrs. H.M.Hobson Ltd.,
47-55 Acton Vale,
London W.3.

Dear Sirs,

For the attention of Major Searight.

We thank you for your letter of the 15th. inst. We regret that we were unable to call in at Acton Vale on our way to France.

The gauge behaved perfectly during the 3000 miles running and we experienced no trouble from filling the petrol filler full to the brim which we did on numerous occasions.

The car is now back in England and will shortly return to the Continent to continue its test. We should therefore be glad if you will let us have a replacement for the temporary instrument so that it can run the concluding 7000 miles of the test.

We may say that this gauge is the first Hobson Telegage we have run on the Continent with which we have had no trouble so that it seems rather evident that lack of provision for the head occasioned by the filler was responsible for our previous trouble.

Yours faithfully,
