ENCLO. 1
17th May 1928.
For the attention of W.A. Robotham, Esq., Expl. Dept.
Messrs. Rolls-Royce, Ltd.,
Derby.
Dear Sirs,
We beg to thank you for your letter of the 16th inst., and as requested we are despatching a replacement dashboard instrument marked for your attention, which we trust will be satisfactory.
We note with satisfaction that the gauge behaved perfectly during your 3000 miles running, and that you made tests by filling the tank up to the top of the filler.
We now feel more confident than ever that the standard which we have established for the shimming of your latest installation will be proof against all filling up conditions, as we have got a slightly larger factor of safety on the twelve gauges supplied against one of your recent orders and the one which we are sending for the French car, than we had on the one which you have just had on test in France.
