Coverley - Production Engineer}/FB 25/1/38 L. Swindall Esq., Experimental Department, Rolls-Royce Ltd., DERBY. Dear Sir, I received a letter from Mr. Waller with reference to a test that you carried out with the Luber-Finer. I did not reply to his letter as I understand he was returning the unit to us for examination. Up to the moment I cannot trace that this has been received - can you advise me when it was despatched? Would you also advise me if, in your test, you coupled this up to the main oil supply of an engine, or to take the full delivery of one of your oil pumps, because I would like to point out that this unit is not designed to deal with the full volume of oil supplied from a pump, it is designed to be fitted to look after the bye-pass feed. From the description by Mr. Waller it would rather appear as if, after the beginning of the test, the oil was passing through the internal bye-pass which is fitted to this unit and was not circulating through the pack at all. Yours faithfully, R.H. Collier Managing Director R.H. COLLIER & CO. LTD. | ||
