Mr Mills from BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} BY5/P6/5/19. C.E / 6 X 295 SPEEDOMETER - MESSRS.SMITH & SONS INSTRUMENTS. I am sending you herewith two sample instruments supplied by Messrs. Smith & Son for our examination and if necessary for testing out. (1) The clock which we return herewith will be essentially a Coachbuilders responsibility, and we therefore at the moment do not propose to make any move in the matter. (2) Speedometer - The speed of the flex necessary to run this instrument is, in our opinion, too high, and we do not therefore propose to adopt same. We are returning you the instruments in question and also the flex, for which latter piece we however issued an order with the object of testing out the instrument, but the speed at which the flexible runs makes this test unnecessary. Could you therefore arrange to return the flex so that we are credited with value of same. In regard to the two instruments referred to above these were not ordered by us, but were simply supplied as samples. Mr Royce does not care for the proposed method of fixing these into the instrument board. BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} | ||
