PHANTOM AND EAC. 8. SUBFRAMES.

X.8380
X.7380

We send herewith N. sch. 2241 shewing a modification to the rear supports of the subframe on the above cars.

This modification for the moment is not to apply to the subframes of EAC.7. or the 20 HP., except that we should like the EAC.7. forward support modified to this design. It is desired however that it should be fitted to R's car, and it will be necessary to send men down to make the alteration to the subframe.

It is hoped that this modification will also overcome the trouble of breaking the frame, which occurred on the 10,000 miles car.

It is also suggested that any other Phantom subframes in the Expl: Shop should be modified in this way.

It will be seen that we have modified the shape and method of carrying the rubber. The object is to set it up in all directions, one of the objections to the support as originally made being that the rubbers did not fit the pots tightly as we intended, and became worn and slack.

We also send herewith N.sch.2239 shewing a general layout of the subframe supported in the new way, particularly applied to R's all-weather 7-EX.
