Bentley / Mr Barrington} c. to Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} c. to Ck.{Mr Clark} Re Radiator Tubes from America. Bn{W.O. Bentley / Mr Barrington}1/W16220. X.3893 With reference to Worl6/M13220, I attach copy of cable sent to America on the 12th. inst. We are very concerned at the general attitude taken by the officials of the American Company relative to the buying of material and parts, and the rather light-hearted fashion in which they apparently view the question of proving such parts at Derby. We think this matter is important and the matter should therefore be raised generally, we think, in a note to CJ. and R.{Sir Henry Royce} I am very glad that you take the sameview as we do on this matter as we think it is likely that it will be necessary to bring to bear a considerable amount of pressure to force the work in connection with the American Company on the right path.
