I measured the square feet of frontal area of this car, and also that of a Bentley with standard Saloon body which happened to be at Brooklands, and I also measured a very large Landaulet in our Showrooms.

The dimensions and areas are as follows:

Width of Front. Height of Front. Area in square ft.

Mrs. Whitburn's coupe. 4.10½ 1ft. 11. 9.3 sq ft.

Bentley Saloon. 3.9½ 1ft. 2¾ 4.65 "

Landaulet in our Showrooms. 4.6. 1ft.10 8.3. "

As the resistance of one square foot of frontal area is estimated to make a difference of one mile per hour at sixty miles per hour, and about one and a half miles per hour at seventy miles per hour, the effect of the large front of this car can be ready gauged.
