Bentley Chassis.

41-GP - Commodore Beaumont - Mileage 12371.

There may be some controversy re the above, but the facts are as follows;-

The car came into the Depot for test and a distinct thump in the engine was noticeable. The oil pressure was normal but the oil flow test showed bad leakage from bearings, average 1m.45sec. This proved that it was not in a safe condition to continue running.

The Owner was definitely told he could not have the car, and the engine is being dissembled.

This car was dealt with at the Paris Depot. on Oct. 10th. when three new big ends were fitted, as stated by the return sheets. The Owner is now wanting to know the whys and wherefores of the job.

This is another case where the B. modification is apt to prove costly and is proving very unsatisfactory in service.
