X.607. ML. c. to EFC. from Test Dept. CEP20/015.12.22. Re. EXIDE BATTERIES. As a result of Mr.McKinnon's visit to the Works on Wednesday last the following decisions were arrived at with respect to faulty batteries inspected. EX. CHASSIS 36-YE. One 2-volt cell ex. an Exide 12-volt battery. The condition of this cell suggested that the battery was worn out, and the Chloride Co. could not see their way clear to replace this cell without making a charge. This charge should be debited to the customer. It was further suggested, owing to the bad condition of the one cell returned, that the customer should be requested to return the remainder of his battery for our joint inspection with the Chloride Co. Meanwhile a renewal battery should be sent on to the customer. Will BP. please instruct accordingly. EX. TEST DEPT. One 12-volt Exide battery. The Chloride Co. have agreed to supply us with a renewal battery free-of-cost. Will Wd.{Mr Wood/Mr Whitehead} please issue the necessary labels releasing this battery and cell to Chat's stores for return to the makers.
