To Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} From G.W.H. Hotel de France, Chateauroux, FRANCE. 5/12/31. X5840 RE. EXHAUST SYSTEM. We would like to suggest that a slight modification to the manifold would most probably overcome the trouble without materially altering the design. The modification is a thin web or flange to be cast between the bends, acting as a stiffener to this part and preventing the stress from being local. We enclose a sketch indicating what we mean, and would be pleased to hear whether you think it would be of any value. G.W.H. GWHancock | ||
