-2- It will be necessary for you to modify the base of the dummy radiator of 1.B.5. to this new design, and this new radiator will be used on future B.50 cars. The junction line of the wing and the bonnet valance or rest plate should be the same as for 1.B.5. (see PD.71) already sent to you) The shape of the wing valance at the radiator is altered and that is shewn on PD.180 and PD.184(2 sheets) prints of which we enclose herewith. These schemes also shew the front apron which we would be glad if you would produce. During Mr Finney's visit to Derby it was agreed to use the modern type of wings, proposed for the standard Bentley, on this car. On PD.185 herewith we shew such wings fitted to 2.B.5. It has been decided to use steel pressed wheels on this car, and this effects the front wings. The spring-on centre cover will have to be put on the spare wheel, after it has been bolted to the side spare wheel carrier. On a small scale view we shew how close the edge of the wheel-well may approach the centre of the wheel to allow of this. This drawing has been made to shew a large number of the alterations that have been made to the original design of the body - PD.98. We would be glad to hear from you what locks you propose to fit to the body, and confirm that the driver's door should have remote control. We are awaiting from Mr Honeyman a set of rear stop tail and reverse lamps to make a scheme for these and the rear number plate and bumper. As soon as you send us a sample of the paint, leather, headcloth and carpet we will confirm the trimming instructions. In order that you may not be rushed with the completion of this body, after consultation with Mr Robotham, Cont'd...... | ||
