x7690 To BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} from EFC. c. BY/RD. EFC3/T22.9.28. BATTERY IGNITION CONTACT BREAKER FIXED POINT SCREW SUPPORT ANDLOCK NUT We notice that the threads and lock nut of the fixed contact point are black oxidised, whereas we think these should be electro-tinned. The point we have in mind is reliability of the electrical connection between the fixed contact point supporting arm and the stud, which itself carries the point. Though we have not actually come across a certain case of this, it is possible that there may be a bad electrical connection here, and we had one case which we suspected may have been due to that cause.
