RE: 20/25 CHASSIS/ SPITTING IN EXHAUST ON RETARD. As discussed with you today, we do not feel that the seriousness of the above defect is realised, although it might be pointed out that this is now worse than it has been for a long time, it but certainly is now bad as compared with the Phantom II, the Bentley Car and in competitive cars. The complaint has been raised by a number of customers who we have somewhat passified by explanations and compromises. I consider however, that the time has now arrived when we shall not be able to get away with this much longer and I suggest that the point should be on your [underlined: urgent] list for matters requiring your urgent attention for future production, and for some scheme which can be [underlined: treated] retrospectively for the [underlined: new] cases of complaints which I feel sure we are going to receive. One must admit when driving these cars, the feature complained of is most annoying. EP.{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} [Signature] | ||
