re. 25-HP. CHASSIS. SPITTING IN THE EXHAUST.

The above feature which to a certain extent has always existed with our 25-HP. chassis, of late seems to be much worse, and we feel sure will be a source of complaint from customers.

The feature takes place even though the car is driven with the throttle control lever in the closed position, and the best attention has been given to the fit of the throttle valve in the closed position, consistent with it being freely actuated.

Mx.{John H Maddocks - Chief Proving Officer} points out that he considers this trouble worse since the fixing of the anti-resonant silencer.(fires more attenuated mixtures)

We consider the feature is one which requires your attention, and we should be in a position as soon as possible, not only to correct our production, but to deal with complaints, as there seems no alternative at present but to make the best of our chassis is this respect.
