Huckerby}29.12.38. INLET VALVES. Will you please instruct that an official EW. drawing be made of the inlet valve for Wraith or Bentley V similar to the attached Motor Component drawing. This is slightly modified to our standard EW.1852 valve in that the strengthening ring at the periphery of the valve has been deleted to facilitate forging by the "upsetting" method. The above is not, of course, for production until it has been proved satisfactory. As an alternative to the electrically upset valves, valves are to be tried upset by the Belgrave method which is normal forging technique. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Swdl.{Len H.
