We have pushed on with the material for experimenting with front wheel brakes as far as possible, with a view to giving you information with regard to the four points that seem to be most important, namely, (1) Prevention of jaggering. (2) To prevent interference with the steering, particularly the danger of the steering taking control. (3) The power necessary to apply the brakes. (4) Relieving the brakes, particularly the outside wheel when turning corners. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} is reporting the results of the tests. I cannot think of anything further at the moment to put in hand until we get the Servo mechanism running. The tests that Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} has made at various times with different bedding of the brakes used, and by leaving out one shoe, have impressed me very much, as until I saw them I did not realise how much the one shoe pushed against the applying lever, pushing the brake off.
