THERMOSTAT FOR PHANTOM 11.

X. 7250.
X. 3499.

You will note that in RL/M25.11.30 R.{Sir Henry Royce} agrees to the advisability of allowing a high temperature before the thermostat opens the shutters. Previously he has been rather keen on 60° opening which is, of course, quite impossible.

The thermostats we recommended the Works to proceed with were those having the 'B' filling of which you have a complete record. These give a running temperature of about 73° C. and we recommend that you proceed with this filling for the time being.

Subsequently you may find that a still higher temperature is required, more especially for American conditions, as Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} is already running with 73° and talking about raising the figure further.
