SPECTRECodename for Phantom III. Re Step Irons. We send you herewith LeC 4397 showing a new design of step iron of greater rigidity in all directions, for the third SpectreCodename for Phantom III 3SI (32EX). This design applies to the front and centre step irons. Because this frame is already drilled we have had to use the existing drilling, but we show on this design the final shape of the top of the step iron and the bolting which we propose to use on all subsequent cars. The distance pieces will be dispensed with and short bolts on the outer web of the frame will be used. On LeC 4424 herewith we show two extra hand holes in the left hand side of the inner web of the frame side member, which we wish to be added. These exactly match the two on the right hand side, and their addition enables us to utilise the same bolting for both sides. Advance prints of both these designs have been handed to RHC.{R. H.
