W/S - Cx.{Major Len W. Cox - Advertising Manager} x3066 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}7/KW.11.2.35. Monthly Return of Standardisation Sheets. Replying to your query re carburetters, contained in Cx.{Major Len W. Cox - Advertising Manager}3/KW.5.2.35, the large Phantom carburetter was fitted in order to counteract the effect of fitting the old type camshaft to the Phantom. The old camshaft was re-fitted because it was more suitable for hydraulic silent tappets than the one we have had on production for the last two years. Since it has been decided not to standardise hydraulic tappets, no benefit at all has been derived from the large carburetter. With regard to the 20/25, the modification to this carburetter should improve the petrol consumption slightly. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} | ||
