Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}2/F22.2.21. CHASSIS - COUPLING CLATTER. With reference to the complaints re slack in drive, we are given to understand that experimental tests are being made at Springfield, as they experience the same complaint on cars of their manufacture. They point out that from the observations they have so far made the noise comes from end movement and not torsional movement. This they say they have proved with a pointer fastened to the gear box.
