X8940 Expl: Dept: Messrs. Rolls-Royce Ltd., Derby, Angleterre. 15th. April 1925. Hotel de France, Chateauroux, Indre, France. Mr. Hancock from Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} With reference to oil temperature. We are rather alarmed at the temperature reaching 80°C. We are carrying out similar tests on a 40/50 engine. Will you please calibrate the thermometer which you used. I understand there are some ordinary glass thermometers in the Garage there, so that if you insert them in water until it boils and take several readings they will act as a check. We are always suspicious of the Cambridge type of thermometer. | ||
