Sidgreaves - MD}9/C.311.37. through to the elbow line at the back, and we would like to know what the No.1 body is going to give on the back seat at these varying points (i.e. front, centre and back between wheel arches) as compared with the Jaguar. Whilst on the subject of Bentley-3 we agree the recommendation in RM{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/R.25.10.37. re absence of running boards. In March last at the Chassis Conference we stressed the importance of more room between the pedals for the driver's feet on the accelerator, and deeper wells. Will you please let me know if this has been done. Would you please tell EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} that on the next body we would like to try and improve the entrance to the front seats by increasing the slope of the windscreen and front pillars, i.e. move them forward 1" at the bottom and leave them in the same position at the top. We assume that you have planned for Bentley-3 to have the improved arrangement of change speed and brake lever, like the P-3 and Wraith. Re pressed steel wheels, you will remember that when Cx.{Major Len W. Cox - Advertising Manager} mentioned this at the last Chassis Conference you all expressed delight at the idea of being able to get away from wire wheels. We should like to see some samples. Re Bentley-3 jacks, please let me know what type you are planning to provide. As time passes the necessity of some form of located jack increases. By located jack I do not necessarily mean 4 jacks or 3, but something at least as good, if not better than the Jaguar had a couple of years ago. Re oil level indicator, I hope that definite action, has been taken to improve the visibility of this. We have, as you know, had some very severe criticisms about it. Please do not trouble to reply to this memo. C. will be with me at Derby on Tuesday and I would like to have the opportunity of going through the answers with him and you then. Sg.{Arthur F.
