HGH.

We have investigated the proposals and comments in Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}9/C.3.11.37, and have made P.D.45 ( a print herewith) to illustrate our remarks:-

(1) Bonnet Width.

The Bentley III bonnet width measured at the rear shoulders is 3" greater than on the standard Bentley. The maximum widths being 39.750 and 36.750 respectively at the scuttle face of the dashboard.

(2) Front Seat Elbow Room.

The front seat elbow room inside the door rails on Bentley III is 50 inches, approximately 3" more than standard.
The joggle of the scuttle in plan is no greater than now.
We are taking Park Ward drawing No.12676 as the design of the existing standard Saloon.

(3) Rear Seat.

The rear seat cushion is 45.5 inches wide as against 44 inches at present on Bentley II, whilst the elbow room is 55 inches as against 51 inches. The track and tyre size controls the seat width.

(4) Running Boards.

The first B.III. car will have reduced running boards as shewn on P.D.45 and will not be used to tread upon, but merely as mud valances. No.2. car will have helmet wings and no steps. A modified body base line will be called for.

(5) Pedals.

More room for the driver's feet has been provided, but wells are not needed. There is an increased clearance transversely between the pedals.
