ENGINE.
LONGER CONNECTING RODS & SHORTER PISTONS.

We send you herewith drawing No. LeC. 1879., dealing with the above alterations.

The connecting rod length has been increased by 1 1/2". The existing cylinder block and head have been used on a crankcase 1" higher, and the remaining 1/2" has been obtained by alterations to the piston.

The piston is provided with a floating piston pin as per the design, the valve gear will require no alteration beyond lengthening the pusher rods 1", the slight change in the angular position of the rod does not sufficiently alter the clearance in the tubes through the head to warrant an alteration. The valve tappets can be left as at present in the crankcase.
