As I think you know America have
schemed a system of fitting rubber shackles to the
40/50 car, including the necessary brackets etc.

We asked them to do this, and we
suggested at the time that they might send over
the actual pieces in order that we might fit them
to a car here for test. So far as we know this
has not been done and we should like to know wheth-
er you would like these pieces sent. Mr. Royce
seems to think we should test the rubber shackles
independent of any other modification, and is pre-
pared to do it in a rough and ready way. To get
the actual castings from America is possibly the
easiest and quickest way to do it?
