R.R. 235A (100 T) (S.H. 159. 11-8-20) G.{Mr Griffiths - Chief Accountant / Mr Gnapp} 2800 [STAMP] ORIGINAL TO HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} FROM DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}2/M3.6.24. re. RUBBER SHACKLES. Y433 As I think you know America have schemed a system of fitting rubber shackles to the 40/50 car, including the necessary brackets etc. We asked them to do this, and we suggested at the time that they might send over the actual pieces in order that we might fit them to a car here for test. So far as we know this has not been done and we should like to know wheth- er you would like these pieces sent. Mr. Royce seems to think we should test the rubber shackles independent of any other modification, and is pre- pared to do it in a rough and ready way. To get the actual castings from America is possibly the easiest and quickest way to do it? DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} [SIGNATURE] [STAMP] RECEIVED | ||
