We send herewith LeC 4827 showing a dashboard two inches wider than standard design to be applicable to the present Bentley chassis. This was done at the request of Sales to enable them to widen the front of the Bentley bodies after the style of the Van Vooren car seen at the Paris Salon. It was intended to go on and make a design of the modified bonnet to go with this dashboard, and also the modifications necessitated to the bonnet valance strip. We learn now, however, that the body programme and the cost so influence the issue that it is unlikely that a change will be made in the dashboard and bonnet until we come to some drastic change in the design of the present chassis. Further we are not going on with the further designs in connection with this job, and we suggest that no detailing should be done on this scheme herewith until we obtain definite instructions to go ahead.
